I watched her from a distance for years and often wondered what her world was like.  I was always taken back by her grandmother’s devotion, unconditional love and enduring affection & dedication.  Then a few years later, through a mutual friend, I connected with her family.  Who would have ever imagined?  I had the privilege of spending a quiet afternoon with Kayle and her family.  As I was taking her pictures, I realized just how important the simple things in life are – like a smile, a hug, a walk in the park with your family…  Kayle is blessed to have such a loving family, but they are so much more blessed having Kayle.  She shares a simple yet impactful message  - EMBRACE life – it is a gift!    Thank you for trusting and allowing me to capture these images.   I pray that some day you will look back at them and smile. :)

I knew what I wanted to say on my Christmas cards this year — so I started with that and built around it.   I think it came together nicely and I hope that we got the message out to our friends and family –
“Life’s a journey – fasten your boots, let the Lord direct your path, & enjoy the ride.”   I truly believe that life is a journey and without the direction of our Lord, well, we would simply be lost.  Think of God as your GPS – He instructs us in which way to go and when we decide not to listen to Him, He tells us to proceed to the next intersection and make a “legal U-Turn.” This gets us back on the right track.  It is pretty cool that no matter how many times we make the wrong turn, or miss the exit, He brings us back on the straight and narrow road.   We hope your life is an exciting journey and that 2012 is filled with many blessings!
Enjoy the ride!

hello blog!

October 25, 2011

I know it has been a while since I have visited my blog to post, but life has been crazy and I have decided to “take it easy” and “enjoy the ride.”  This Saturday we spent over seven hours at a baseball complex.  Yes of course I took some pictures of the game action.  But how many baseball pictures can you take?  I couldn’t help but take advantage of this beautiful day to get some shots of Meg.  She is always reluctant to have her picture taken, but after some negotiating (some might refer to this technique as threatening instead) she agreed and this is what I got.
